Information on Multi-Academy Trust Consultation

Information for Federation Stakeholders

I am sure that you will all be aware of the rumblings in the media concerning the changes to education as we know it. The outgoing and incoming government were and are committed to all schools becoming academies in the near future.

Following significant consideration the Governing body of North Petherwin and Werrington Federation have agreed to go to consultation with community members about  conversion to academy status as part of a Multi Academy Trust.  We should emphasise at this point that this is a consultation and we would very much like to hear your views on this matter.

As a result we will be holding consultation meeting at the following times:

Initial Information meetings to be held at North Petherwin Primary School

Monday 18th May

Staff and Governors - 2:15pm

Parents and community members – 3:15pm

There will be a further meeting to gather opinions on:

Monday 15th June

Staff and Governors -2:15pm

Parents and Community Members – 3:15pm

Initial Information meetings to be held at Werrington Primary School

Tuesday 19th May

Staff and Governors - 2:15pm

Parents and community members – 3:15pm

There will be a further meeting to gather opinions on:

Tuesday 16th June

The accompanying consultation statement provides relevant information that may answer questions of what academy conversion means and why it is being considered at this point in time by our schools.

All feedback from the consultation process will be used by the governing body to inform the final decision making on 30th June 2015.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas on this exciting opportunity to improve the long term educational provision for all pupils at our schools

If you require further information or are unable to attend the meetings please feel free to contact Miss Callow or Mrs Taylor, Chair of Governors, via the school office.
