Welcome to Class 2's page!
Our class teacher is Miss Andrew. Mrs Dauncey and Mrs Cooper also do a wonderful job of supporting us in our learning.
Our theme this term is 'Cornwall'. Please see the Curriculum Map and Knowledge Organiser for other areas of the curriculum that we will be covering. Our class page and Dojo will be kept as up-to-date as possible so that you can see all of our wonderful learning!
Reading is really important and we want our children to develop a love of reading and books. Our class read is 'Ratburger' by David Walliams - we are enjoying it very much! Please try and read with your child at least 3 times a week so that they can earn their super-reader sticker in their reading diaries. Talking about the text is also just as important. You can ask your child questions to help encourage their reading comprehension. More information can be found on the Oxford Owl website or pop in to class to have a chat for any support. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/oxford-owl-videos/reading-comprehension-videos/.
In addition to reading, homework will be set weekly. Learning can be recorded in any way: writing, photos, drawings, videos, projects and can also be sent in on Dojo. We will be continuing to work on our recall of times tables. https://ttrockstars.com is a fantastic website to help at home.
If you have any questions, queries or problems throughout the year then please feel free to come and see me or a member of our team.
Thank you for your support.
We started our Topic 'Under the Sea' with a visit to Plymouth Aquarium. We all came away with a bank of new facts about the sea creatures we saw and some funny stories about the mischief that an octopus can get up to. The visit has inspired us to want to research more information about certain sea creatures as part of our Topic work.
Welcome to the Butterflies Class!
We are a class of Year 2, 3 and 4 children who learn in a wonderful classroom with a great outdoor space. Our teacher is Mrs Buckthought and we have excellent support from our fabulous TA Mrs Dauncy.
